My husband and I married at 36 and thought we had plenty of time to try for children. After a year of marriage we decided to begin trying to conceive. I began experiencing headaches and hot flashes and quickly found out from three doctors that I was in menopause...at 37! Two doctors said there was nothing that could be done and we should look into adoption. We decided to schedule an appointment with an infertility specialist to get his take on the situation. Thank goodness we did!

We tried several treatments and went through one miscarriage. We finally decided to jump straight to IVF and hope for the best. Our doctor gave us a 10% chance of success, but said "it only takes one healthy egg and one healthy sperm." Well, I had three embryos implanted and experience the joy of Cailen Anne Chinn coming into our lives nine months later. I'm now 41 . . . a mature mom . . . and loving every minute of raising a 2 1/2 year old!
