Dylan's Story

dylanAt 25 weeks, I had been to my family doctor and told I had the flu. For 2 weeks, I had off and on aches around my stomach. I associated it with the flu. At 27 weeks, I began to have a consistent pain that continued and did not get better or go away. On that Sunday night, I couldn't sleep and by 5 am, knew I needed to head to the E.R.

After monitoring me for about an hour the doctor on call told me he felt it was just my ligaments stretching that they are usually worse with the second child. The pain proceeded to get worse all day. At 7 P.M., I had such an awful, sharp pain that we headed to the hospital that I was supposed to deliver in so that my OB would be able to see me.

After several tests, it was decided that I was having appendicitis, and they would have to do emergency surgery. I was told before the surgery that if my appendix ruptured, the baby would have 50/50 chance. With all that said, I ended up with TWO surgeries in 24 hours, and went 41 hours with a ruptured appendix. After all the medication and monitoring, Dylan was born the day AFTER his due date. God kept His healing hand on me and my precious son.
