Joseph's Story

On January 31st, 2002, I went in to my obstetrician’s office for my 8-month exam to see how our little baby was doing. The past two visits showed he was losing a little weight and everyone was concerned. My doctor examined me and then sent me into another office for a sonogram. The news was bad... our baby lost more weight. I was sent to a high-risk pregnancy specialist right from there. A quick examination and panic set in!! I was told to go immediately to the hospital...the specialist already had my doctor on his way there! Joey's frightened Daddy came and met me right away for our frantic trip to the hospital.

Within one hour of our being there, our sweet baby arrived, via an emergency c-section!! Joseph (Joey) was born weighing 3lbs, 15oz. He was so strong... right from the beginning!! With wonderful care and so much love from everyone, Joey came home with us 3 weeks later, weighing 4lbs!! He needed double hernia surgery at one-month, but our baby is healthy now... and so happy!! Strong and getting bigger and bigger everyday, Joey is OUR Miracle Baby!!!
