My husband and I had been told by every doctor we met that we would most likely never conceive a child. My medical problems had reached the point where my doctor recommended a complete hysterectomy. While we were thrilled to be the parents of a beautiful daughter from China, we felt we needed to seek God's wisdom before taking this drastic step. I asked two women in our church to pray for me. To my surprise, they felt that God was saying that we would both adopt another child (which we had plans to do) AND give birth to a child, which seemed impossible! In the months that followed, my doctor urged me to schedule my surgery as my condition worsened. However, after six months, my condition inexplicably improved. This was after I had already exhausted every form of treatment known! Soon after, we received the referral for our son, whom we adopted a few months later. One month to the day after receiving our referral for our son, we discovered I was indeed pregnant after five years!

My pregnancy was uneventful, and last September our miracle baby Matthew was born. Since we had just adopted our son from Vietnam the previous spring (he was only 11 months old when Matthew was born!) and also had a three-year-old, it has been such a blessing that Matthew has such an easy-going, sunny personality! He is now almost a year old, and we feel so blessed!
