It was October 8th
2005 when I was rushed to the hospital at 5:30 in the morning...I was 6
months pregnant and I was cramping and bleeding very badly. My daughter
Alexa was born at 8:35am that day. She was 1 pound 5 oz. and 12 inches
long. I didn't get to see her for about 4 hours after the surgery. When
I went into the NICU I couldn't believe what I saw. This tiny little
person fighting so hard for her life. She was connected to so many tubes
and wires, she was also on a ventilator because her lungs were so under
developed.
It has been 11 months since my daughter was
born... sad to say she is still in the hospital, but she is doing so
much better! Alexa is getting a lot stronger and she now weighs over 16
pounds and is 27 inches long... She is predicted to get her tracheotomy
reversed by the end of this winter!!!!! There really is such a thing
called a miracle!!!
